TANGANYIKA CHRISTIAN REFUGEE SERVICE
Tanganyika Christian Refugee Service (TCRS) is an Associate Field Programme of the Lutheran World Federation Department for World Service (LWF/DWS). It was first established in the then Tanganyika in 1964, primarily to provide humanitarian assistance during the tremendous influx of refugees fleeing from the many surrounding countries in civil strife, into this relatively peaceful country in the region. Tanzania’s generous policy toward refugees and asylum seekers has since, enabled hundreds of thousands of refugees from neighboring countries to find safe heaven here.
